Thoughts for contacting Governing Officials

Please contact your own officials. Please contact officials from other states as you hear of other situations throughout our country.

Feel free to contact all officials repeatedly. There is no limit as to how many times you may contact them. The more you petition and pressure, the better!

When calling, emailing, or writing governing officials, please maintain a Christlike spirit. Communicate with Holy Spirit power, and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.

Be very specific in asking officials to recognize and respect that church is essential!

Here are some “sample” thoughts to share in your calls, emails, and letters:

Churches have been left off the list of those things deemed as, “essential.” Churches have First Amendment rights above all other groups. Churches are exercising those rights. Please declare churches to be essential. Please add/list churches as essential in your executive orders. Churches exist to help people by offering hope and providing spiritual support. They are vital to our communities. Home repair stores, liquor stores, pet stores, grocery stores, and bicycle repair shops have all been considered essential, but not churches. This is discrimination and a direct violation of the First Amendment and the Constitutional rights of churches.

At the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, churches went to a mostly online format to do what was best for their members and communities. Churches cooperated with leaders in government. With what we now know about the virus, and how to deal with it, churches must now go back to having church services in their buildings. Churches can be and will be safe, sanitized, and using social distancing.

We do not want a fight. We do not want to have a clash with governmental leaders or law enforcement. We do not want to have to issue lawsuits. We are good citizens, and we love our country. However, we are reopening, and we need to have our First Amendment rights recognized.

I thank God for your service to our [insert service area ]. I want you to know that I am praying for God to give you wisdom, and for Him to bless you and your family.

God bless you
